Application Process

All applications must be made through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)


  • Applications will be accepted from September through December
  • Interviews will be granted by invitation only October through January


Applications will not be reviewed until the following are received by the program:

  1. Complete ERAS application form
  2. Dean's letter from medical school
  3. Medical school transcript
  4. Three letters of reference
  5. USMLE scores
  6. E-mail address and contact information

Interview Process

Below is a sample of a typical interview day schedule at Harbor; please check your interview invitation e-mail for exact times:

  • 10:00 A.M.  - Arrival and parking
  • 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.  - Meeting with program directors
  • 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.  - Attend one hour of conference with the residents
  • 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M.  - Lunch at the Harbor-UCLA Doctor's Cafeteria
  • 1:00 P.M. to 3:15 P.M.  - Split into two groups: Group A will interview; Group B will meet with the chiefs, watch the recruitment video, and tour the ED then switch
  • 3:15 P.M.  - End interview day

There is typically a pre-interview social the night prior to the interview hosted by one of our residents; please see your interview invitation for more information about the specifics. Please try to attend; we would love to get to know you better and tell you all about our program!

We have many more qualified and outstanding applicants than we are able to interview, and we apologize for not being able to accommodate more.
